Exclusive Rebellion News! Plus More Impact News and Notes

As discussed last week, tessa Blanchard was stuck in California and was unlikely to be at last weeks tapings in Nashville. Dave Meltzer was able to confirm that Tessa was in fact NOT there and voluntarily stayed in California. The following comes from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“Tessa Blanchard, the company’s top star, was not at the taping and I don’t know who did and didn’t come or were able, particularly since the tag champs are Ethan Page & Josh Alexander, both from Canada, and the company didn’t book anyone from Canada to the tapings because they weren’t allowed in the country. Michael Elgin is Canadian but lives in the St. Louis area so he wouldn’t have had an issue.”

The Combat Republic has confirmed with a source close to the situation that Michael Elgin was at the tapings in Nashville and will be a part of Rebellion.

Taya Valkyrie was not at the tapings which was confirmed on the Keeping it 100 podcast with Konnan and Disco Inferno. Sha stated that she was given the option to go and decided against it because she didn’t feel comfortable.

Impact reportedly taped up to 12 weeks of programming in 3 days last week which is insane. One has to wonder with certain states loosening up restrictions beginning May 1st if they will try to do another round of tapings. 12 weeks is a long time to go without your World Champ, Tag Team Champs, and a top star like Taya.

News also got out that members of the local promotion team that has helping to put on Lockdown in Windsor last month before it was cancelled was still paid for their efforts. If Im a newly released talent I would remember who the good guys were during this rough time. For all their faults and abd business practices under other regimes, Impact has don their best to do right by their talent and staff during this time.
