KSW 54 takes place tomorrow in Warsaw, Poland. It’s the company’s third show this year, and its second in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will also be the first KSW event to allow both fans and media to attend live.
Tomorrow’s main event is for the lightweight championship, pitting Mateusz Gamrot (16–0, 1 NC) and Marian Ziolkowski (21–7–1, 1 NC), a replacement opponent for the unbeaten Gamrot.
The lightweight champion was originally scheduled to fight Shamil Musaev, who had to pull out because of a knee injury. Ziolkowski was moved up the card as a result, who weighed in yesterday at a lean 154 lbs., while the champion weighed in at 155 lbs.
The KSW 54 co-main event pits the 254 lbs. Quentin Domingos against Polish boxer and ex-kickboxer Izuagbe Ugonoh, who will be making his MMA debut. Earlier today, Domingos received a four-year ban from AFLD, the French anti-doping agency, for testing positive before a fight in 2018, though we aren’t sure if this will have any impact on the fight in Warsaw tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s other heavyweight bout features two powerful strikers, with 255 lbs. Michal Andryszak going up against 233-pounder Michal Kita.
The lightweight division will also host Maciej Kazieczko, who will take on Karlo Caput, a fighter looking for redemption after suffering his first loss last May.
Additionally, Poland’s Pawel Politylo will face the experienced Romanian Bogdan Barbu in a bantamweight match.
