According to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes have finished up their run with IMPACT Wrestling. The writing was on the wall when RVD spoke openly about doing something WWE soon and then just last week, all RVD merch was removed from IMPACTs online store.
Johnson states in the report ”We are told their departures are a result of their current storylines ending. Van Dam had not been under contract for some time and had been working on a series of short-term agreements.”
Honestly, RVD’s initial heel turn was great but they quickly got stale when they started the now defunct “Cancel Culture” stable. Katie Forbes has been a huge channel changer for me since her debut. The recent feud with Sami Callihan was a miss and Rob is in a time in his career where it seems he could not care less whether he works or not. He’s earned that, but Impact needs newer and hungrier stars. RVD, rightfull so, commanded a high salary, hopefully the money that save by not using him anymore can go to signing Deonna Purazzo and re-signing Ethan Page.
