ROH has been putting out some of the most quality wrestling shows with the advent of their “Pure” tournament last month. Its a sports oriented show with hard hitting action without all the gaga. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, that might be all part of a bigger plan.
“Several sources have told us that Ring of Honor is planning a bit of a program revamp, at least according to those within the company and what they tell Fightful. We’ve learned that ROH officials have told incoming superstars that they’re hoping to rejuvenate the brand as a whole from top to bottom. This includes the women’s division, which Jonathan Gresham took over at the beginning of the year.” Thanks to Jack for Transcribing
According to the report, Marty Scurlls status with the company is unknown and Delirious has been dealing with talent directly.
Mikes Take: While always putting on solid to great TV shows, RoH took a huge hit when AEW came on the scene. I think an overhaul is in order and they really need to adapt their identity to get people talking about them again. Not long ago they were the second biggest drawing company in North America despite having very little exposure. The talent roster is really good but so far that has not translated in to buzz.
