According to a report from Sean Ross Sapp via Fightful Select, it looks like Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling will be continuing their working relationship as soon as restrictions loosen up. The partnership seemed to cool down last year after the big AEW exodus from both companies. The last major show they partnered on was the MSG show during Wrestlemania Weekend in 2019. The report states:
“While we didn’t hear of specific projects, we’re told that Ring of Honor and New Japan have an open dialogue and at least tentatively plan on releasing content together. People we spoke to with in ROH are under the impression that New Japan will likely add to their working relationships when available.”
Mike’s Take: This is good news for talents for both companies. The buzz in America for New Japn is way down since they lost their AXS TV deal and ROH is coming off a major downturn in business in the months since the MSG show. Hope the two companies start trading talent relatively soon and even hold a joint show together.
