IMPACT Wrestling announced this morning that they will be bringing back the “Super X Cup” during their next IMPACT Plus special “Genesis” on January 11th. This is the first Super X Cup tournament since 2017, which was won by Dezmond Xavier.
Mike’s Take: I’m cautiously optimistic about this tournament. Given the talent that they have in the company and all the free agents that are out there, this could be something special. But in order for it to live up to the hype they will have to let the talent do what they do best and put on exciting matches and leave out all the nonsense. But if its going to be full of gimmicks and overbooked finishes, that will be a huge disappointment. Assuming IMPACT isnt bringing in any talent under contract with other companies (its possible they could) Here’s a look at some of the talent possibilities:
