According to AEW announcer Tony Schiavone, AEW has signed 8 year old Brodie Lee to a contract and he will be a part of the company when he gets older. Schiavone told the story on the latest episode of his podcast “What Happened When with Tony Schiavone:
“They had brought little Brodie to TV and wrestling is his life. He is 8 years old. He really is a great kid. They made him a member of The Dark Order. They put a mask on him. He came out with a kendo stick. He beat up a lot of people. This of course was at a TV taping with nobody in the audience. They signed him to a contract. They legitimately signed him to a contract and when he gets of age, he will be with AEW.” H/T WrestlingNews.co
Mike’s Take: Thats so freaking cool. AEW really do treat their wrestlers like family.
Tony also stated that the day after Brodie was a guest on the AEW Uncensored podcast he got sick and had to be airlifted to the Mayo clinic. The family asked the company to keep it quiet and they all did a good job with that. They knew it was really bad but they were all hoping he would “kick out”. Last weekend Schiavone said everyone got a company wide email to be on a Zoom call in thirty minutes, and thats how they received the news.
