As first reported by the Wrestling Observer and Fight Game Media’s Ryan Frederick, former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler (21-5) will make his long awaited debut against Dan Hooker (20-9).
Dana White confirmed the matchup to ESPN’s Brian Okamoto. Chandlers first UFC fight will come on the biggest card imaginable, as the card will be headlined by Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier.
Mike’s Take: They will not be giving Chandler a soft matchup in his debut as Dan Hooker is as tough as they come and is 3-1 in his last 4 fights, securing wins over Al Iaquinta and Paul Felder. In Chandlers final Bellator fight he KO’d former UFC champion Benson Henderson.
