Kentucky Media Name acquired a ‘Majority Interest’ in OVW. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful broke the news earlier this morning:
‘Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio and Craig Greenberg have helped lead an effort and has purchased a majority stake in Ohio Valley Wrestling. Al Snow will be remaining with the company, and a reinvigoration of the brand will be led, with a heavy emphasis on the training school aspect of the acquisition’.Â
CHUCK’S TAKE: This is a good move for OVW and wrestling overall. There’s money to be made in wrestling as long as the program is excellently produced and solid. Retaining Al Snow was a brilliant move as well, due to his familiarity with the promotion considering the names behind the paywall don’t necessarily have experience in the wrestling world. I’m curious to see the direction between IMPACT and OVW moving forward with this news in play.
