According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Steve Cutler’s WWE release came due to heat, which was sustained as a result of contracting Covid-19 in early January.
“There was heat on Cutler specifically from Vince McMahon when Cutler was sidelined from WWE TV after contracting COVID-19 in early January”
The report goes on to state that Cutler was actually training at the PC when the release occurred and that Cutler “was a welcome familiar face at the facility and well liked by those there”. Fightful Select
